Pastor and Mrs. Matties

Pastor Matties was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Matties was born in Jackson, Michigan and was raised in the Jackson area. As young adults they received the Lord Jesus Christ as there Savior. At the age of nineteen, Pastor Matties entered the military, while in the Army he surrendered to the call of God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has pastored in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Ohio and since 1983 has pastored here at Bible Baptist Church. God has blessed the church with souls saved and Christians strengthen. It is wonderful to see the hand of God at work and the blessings of God on the Church, and on our families. He and his wife Margaret were married in November of 1965, they have five children and many grand and great grandchildren.
